Virtual Side Event to the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2026
On July 10, 2026, our project was featured at the Virtual Side Event to the United Nations High-Level Political Forum dedicated to “Closing the Skills Gap for the 2030 Agenda: Lessons from EU Transnational Partnerships.” The event was hosted by the project partners and the Communications package leader, Think Tank AlterContacts.
The response exceeded every expectation. We welcomed 300 participants from 93 countries across all 5 continents, spanning youth, civil society, academia, the private sector, NGOs, and local and regional authorities. This truly global gathering proved that Closing the skills gap for Agenda 2030 is a conversation the world is ready to have — together.
Through open dialogue and interactive breakout rooms — no slides, no scripted speeches — participants engaged directly with experts behind five EU-funded Erasmus projects, each offering a replicable model for turning SDG commitments into ground-level action.
New collaborations were sparked, voices from every region were heard, and the seeds for future partnerships were planted — in true HLPF 2026 spirit of transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated action.
We invite you to watch and share the recording (above).
A heartfelt thank you to Daniela de Gregorio for representing our project at this important event, to all partner institutions, and every participant who joined us across time zones to make this moment possible. This is only the beginning — a report from the session's discussions is coming after the holidays, and we look forward to continuing this journey together toward the European Sustainable Development Week in September 2026.
